Ir. Andrew Amaladoss is currently General Manager at Tawau Green Energy Sdn. Bhd., the developer of Malaysia’s first geothermal power plant project. Ir. Amaladoss spent the first 27 years of his career with local power utility, Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB), 24 years of which were in the Generation Projects division, where he was responsible for the design and construction of conventional power plants (diesel generators, open and combined cycle gas turbine and steam turbine plant, mini hydro plants). When the IPP concept was introduced in Sabah in the early 1990s, he was instrumental in being a part of the SESB team which designed and negotiated PPAs. He played a similar role when the Small Renewable Energy Power (SREP) Programme was introduced in 2001. Upon leaving SESB in 2007, Ir. Amaladoss was Project Director at Kina Biopower and Seguntor Bioenergy, developers of two palm biomass power plant projects in the East Coast of Sabah. Ir. Amaladoss has extensive experience in the design and construction of conventional power plants as well as renewable energy plants, and has presented papers at conferences both locally and internationally. He is a Mechanical Engineer by profession, having obtained a Bachelor of Technology (Honours) degree from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. In addition, he has an MBA from Durham University, United Kingdom. He also holds the following professional registrations:- Fellow, Institution of Engineers Malaysia (FIEM)
