Mohd Zamri bin Ibrahim was born in Air Puteh Kemaman, Terengganu in August 1971. He received his first Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Sunderland, United Kingdom, in 1996. In 1997 he pursued his Master degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering at University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Later, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Renewable Hydrogen Energy Production System in 2007 at National University of Malaysia,(UKM) Malaysia. Mohd Zamri started his career as a Consultant Engineer in 1996. He was appointed as a Production Engineer at Hyundai Pipe Company at Pusan, Korea in 1997. Later, in 1998 he was appointed as a lecturer at Terengganu Technical University College (TATIUC). He was then appointed as a lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu which is formerly known as Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, Terengganu (UPMT) and Kolej Universiti Sains dan Teknologi Malaysia (KUSTEM) in July 1999 till now.
In August 2010, he is promoted to the post of an Associate Professor and presently, university has appointed him as the Rector TATI University College (TATIUC). In year 2008, he was appointed as a Head of Department of Engineering Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Deputy Dean at the same faculty in July 2010. His recent research work focuses on the renewable energy particularly in renewable energy system and renewable energy resources. This includes research interests in the design, development and Techno-economics studies of the Renewable Energy System application such as wind, solar, wave and ocean current energy. His research interest also focuses on the areas of hydrogen fuel, forecasting of Energy sources and clean technology system. He has extensively collaborated with research institutions and universities in Malaysia. He has received research grants with total amount more than RM 5 million from various agencies as a project leader and co-researcher.
He is actively conducting a research in his field of interests through the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has supervised more than 30 undergraduate students and now he is supervising 10 Master students and 6 Doctor of Philosophy students in the area of Renewable Energy Technology system. He has presented and published many papers on the Renewable Energy Systems at various international and local refereed journals, symposiums and conferences. Currently, more than 80 papers have been published and many more will be published in the near future. To date, those papers have been cited more than 100 times by other scientists worldwide.He is a chairman as well as a reviewer for the International Environmental Science and Technology Conference (ESTEC) 2009. He is also appointed as an editor for the Proceedings of Environmental Science and Technology (ESTEC) 2009. He has also been appointed as a reviewer/editor for the Journal of Energy (Elsevier),Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews (Elsevier), Energy and Buildings (Elsevier) and Journal of Sustainable Science and Management.
Moreover, he has received numerous awards for excellence in teaching and exhibition competition at national and international level including UMT Excellence Service Award. In addition, he is a member of Institute Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), IMECHE, World Wind Energy Association, (WWEA).
